The Ottenby's "duck trap"
During his stay at Ottenby Bird Observatory, Pierre-Lou also participated in the capture of ducks a few kilometers from the observatory. These operations are quite similar to those carried out in the Camargue and the Baie d'Aiguillon this winter even if each structure has its particularities.
Every day, Larissa, Canadian at heart, and Stina, faithful to the station for several years, go to the "duck trap".
At this time, the capture season only begins and it is still rather calm. Some ducks per day satisfy us. In the fall, sometimes about a hundred ducks are trapped!
Here are some images that present these interesting and sometimes amusing moments alongside Larissa and Stina, in charge of the duck trap for the Ottenby bird observatory this year!
