2023 POOL PROJECT
In 2023, Pierre-Lou returns to the Evo Natural Area, Finland, to take part in the POOL project.
POOL is a scientific and artistic project about the role of seasonal wetlands as biOdiversity hOtspots and nature-based soLution to water quality decline in the Finnish boreal forest ecosystems
POOL Project
The POOL project gathers the expertise of a multidisciplinary team of researchers, artists and stakeholders in order to improve the knowledge and take a new look at seasonal wetlands, which are insufficiently known in the boreal forest ecosystems.
The scientific research and monitoring carried out in the POOL project, focused on the Evo natural area, Finland, will provide the missing knowledge on the role of seasonal wetlands for biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in the boreal forest. The results of this research will provide solutions to improve the efficiency of natural management of forest companies and wetland conservation.
At the same time, artistic work will provide an original look at these natural areas and raise awareness of the importance of their role and their conservation. Several artistic disciplines will be honored: painting and plastic arts, dance, music and singing, and photography. Numerous public exhibitions and interventions in schools will allow to bring this message to the public and to the youth.
